For 40 years, the Karroo Theatrical Hotel in Steytlerville has been home to a legendary drag show, a testament to enduring artistry. Proprietors Mark Hinds (on piano) and Jacques Rabie (as the captivating Dame Leyla Lamborghini) conjure magic weekly. We went backstage to witness their ritual of transformation, a profound story of dedication, proving that even in the most barren of places, human expression finds a way not just to survive, but to shine.
